Dr. Carlos Piniella is the Founder of Piniella Asthma + Allergy. Launched in 1993, Dr. Piniella’s practice now includes 4 locations covering Dade and Monroe Counties. He also established Homestead Medical Research in 2014 to pursue his love of research, where he now serves as the CEO and Director of the Asthma, Allergy, and Biologics division. Dr. Piniella is dedicated to S. FL and continues to serve in the areas of patient care, research, and teaching. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Dr. Piniella graduated from the University of Miami with a Post Baccalaureate in Science. He then received his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Piniella completed his Internship and Residency at Cabrini Medical Center / New York Medical College in Internal Medicine and a Fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology at the prestigious Cooke Allergy Institute / St. Luke’s Roosevelt Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Piniella is board certified in Internal Medicine and Allergy / Immunology by the ABIM and ABAI as well as the Clinical Boards of Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Piniella is a Fellow of the American College of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology and a member of the American Academy of Asthma Allergy and Immunology. In addition, Dr. Piniella serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and has been on the teaching faculty at Barry University.
